Extended After-School Programme (EASP)
Contracted to the Y through the Ministry of Education, the EASP serves up to 1,600 students from public schools across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. The goals of the programme include: to improve social, emotional, and academic competencies; provide comprehensive youth development activities with a focus on character development; and provide parents with a safe after-school environment for their children. The Y’s core values of honesty, caring, respect, responsibility, and faith are integrated into all after-school activities.
This programme reaches children most in need during the critical after school hours, helping them build confidence as well as social and emotional awareness. Our primary purpose addresses the main and underlying cause of the majority of challenges our community faces. The Y teaches, and is rooted in basic, core values that inspire youth and build character for all. We focus on prevention to reduce the severity of need for intervention later in life.
