Annual Campaign

Each year, the Y relies on the generosity of individuals and businesses to support our work and provide programmes and services, especially for those who require financial assistance. You are directly impacting the Y’s work to nurture the potential of our youth by giving to one of these character-building programmes.

Through the Extended After-School Programme, the Y serves up to 1,600 students from public schools across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac creating a safe place to build confidence, support academic achievement, and improve social and emotional awareness.

Teen Leaders reaches over 75 young people aged 13 -17, helping them to develop vital leadership skills and gain hands-on experience solving problems, addressing issues like bullying and other social challenges, improving public speaking and using sound judgement.

When school is not in session, Y Day Camp provides a safe and well-supervised environment for over 700 kids to have fun, make friends and participate in a variety of activities to learn and grow. As studies have shown, children who are not provided this type of experience during out-of-school times are more likely to experience learning loss and fall behind those who are afforded these opportunities.

The YMCA Ropes Challenge Course serves as an excellent tool helping both youth and adults to improve critical communication, team-building, trust, planning and problem-solving skills. This unique tool has been proven to significantly impact learning in an experiential setting in ways that traditional methods can fall short. Addressing fears, overcoming obstacles, understanding how critical relationships are to success, and building confidence are just a few of the powerful takeaways from the programme.  All Y programmes teach and reinforce the core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith through every activity. We work to inspire our young people to reach their full potential, while building character that lasts a lifetime.

ON THE HORIZON

The Y will continue developing new programmes to meet the needs of our youth, families and seniors at various locations throughout our Islands. We are also in the planning phase of our first full-service YMCA complex while committed to renovating the facilities at the Field of Dreams, furthering our impact. Get in touch to learn more!
