If you can’t find Savannah (aka Ariel) you might want to try the pool. She can typically be found there teaching YMCA swim lessons, working with after-school kids to develop their swim strokes, or overseeing Y campers enjoying some cool down time in the water. Originally from Charlotte, North Carolina, Savannah grew up going to the YMCA, eventually landing her first job as a lifeguard at her local Y in 2010. Savannah has developed her skills as a lifeguard, pool manager, swim instructor and lifeguard trainer over the past 10 years.
In the summer of 2018, she accepted an intern position with the YMCA of the Cayman Islands as the Aquatic and Swim Lesson Specialist. After graduating from Liberty University with a bachelor’s in public health, Savannah joined the YMCA in Cayman full-time, further pursing her passion of teaching kids and adults the importance of knowing how to swim and developing their knowledge around water safety.
