Sean Moyle comes from a long line of community minded Caymanians, but it was Hurricane Ivan in 2004 that brought him home and put him on a track of entrepreneurship and charity.
Sean attended North Side Primary School followed by Cayman Islands Prep School until he left for high school in St. Petersburg, Florida, at Admiral Farragut Naval Academy. While there he was a member of the Junior Reserve Officer’s Training Corps and earned the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He also became 4th Company Commander and a top leader within the schools battalion.
During his time at Admiral Farragut, Sean was an avid sportsman representing the school at the state level in American football, basketball and track and field. Sean was also selected for Team USA, which travelled to Austria to play in an international basketball tournament. It was from that experience that he developed a love for travel and different cultures. After graduating in 1998, Sean furthered his education at Barry University in Florida, studying International Business.
After Hurricane Ivan, Sean took time off from school to come home to Cayman to assist with the Island cleanup. He was motivated to see his country cleaned up and back on track. He opened his courier company, Calabash Couriers Services, which he sold to devote more time to community and charities. He not only donates to many charitable causes, but also organizes charitable events.
Sean continues to be an avid sportsman and knows the value sports can add to someone’s life: physically, emotionally and mentally. YMCA is a perfect match for Sean as he fully believes he can make a difference and help better the lives of the young people of these Islands. YMCA is the world’s oldest youth organization and Sean believes Caymanian youths who partner with the association will benefit greatly from the many character building and leadership programs offered.
