185314400_4211487205580782_1283559000931640785_nIn March 2020, the YMCA launched a new initiative called “Ready to Respond” (R2R). This initiative is aimed at lowering health and safety related incidents through a focus on safety around water and emergency response. In June, the Y’s first “Water Safety Day” was held. The event included a free swim skill assessment and participants received an educational resource package to help them safely develop their swim skills.

The YMCA is an ASHI training centre; providing staff, volunteers and programme partners with an internationally recognised Basic First Aid & CPR/AED certification, valid for up to two years.

IMG-20210830-WA0012Our goal is to have sufficient funds to ensure that YMCA programmes remain accessible FOR ALL. Each year, through the “YMCA Annual Giving Campaign”, the Y provides scholarships for individuals and families who want and need Y programmes but cannot fully afford them. In 2021 alone, the YMCA has processed over 70 applications for financial assistance; a growing need as we continue to face the realities of COVID-19.  Help us to support our community, by giving to the Y today!

R3 Cayman Foundation Logo R3 supports the YMCA’s Relief Care effort

The YMCA and R3 Foundation partnered again this year (2021) to provide Relief Care to families directly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic or recent natural disasters such as Tropical Storm Grace. Thanks to the generous support received by the R3 Foundation, children and youth gained access to valuable youth enrichment opportunities through the Y’s Day Camp, After-School and Learn to Swim programmes. Without the financial support of our donors, we could not fulfill a key part of our mission. To be a Y that is available FOR ALL. Thank you R3 Foundation for your continued support through these challenging and unprecedented times.
